Schedule (will vary with advanced notice):
Monday 9:30-5:30
Tuesday 9:30-5:30
Wednesday 9:30-5:30
Alternating Saturdays and Sundays depending on event schedule 9:30-5:30/6
Possibly more hours during event season
Event breakdowns typically 10:30-midnight 1-3 a month ($100-$150 depending on distance) during event season
Flexibility in scheduling is desired.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Helping maintain, organize and update a multi-use retail space
- Caring for our indoor shop plants (watering, pruning, treating pests, pricing, etc.)
- Watering and maintaining a few corporate indoor/outdoor plant accounts weekly
- Checking out customers in person, by phone, and online
- Delivering floral arrangements as needed
- Assist with floral design of daily offerings/deliveries as needed (can be trained)
- Assist with local workshops and events as needed
- Participate in weekly staff meetings
- Support management team
Experience We are Looking For
- 2-3 years general retail experience
- Food and beverage experience preferred (why? - because F&B people know how to hustle and work effectively in a team under stress)
- High School Diploma Required
- Plant knowledge and experience is a MUST
- Willingness to take a little test on plant knowledge
- Floral design experience preferred but not necessary
- Experience with Shopify preferred but not necessary
- Clean driving record a MUST
- Clean background check
- Can lift 50lbs
- Can be on feet for long periods of time
- Comfortable on ladders a MUST
Hours and Compensation
- The shop is typically open 7 days a week 10-5:30/6
- Shifts typically begin between 8am and 10am
- Must be able to work most weekends and until shop closes
- Between 30-40 hours a week
- Starting range for this position is $17-$20/hr depending on experience and and knowledge
- Start by End of August 2024
Note: this is a retail shop position and not an event designer position, however, there may be opportunities to set up events should we have a need outside your shop schedule.
